Gurio Umino (known in the English dubbing of Sailor Moon as Melvin Butlers) is a Barney Bunch member.

History & Description

Appearing since the very first Sailor Moon manga, and since the first episode of the anime, he's the very smart and stereotypical nerd who is classmates, and friends with Sailor Moon and Naru Osaka, and is known to be socially awkward. Naru Osaka is his best friend in the manga and anime.

In the English dubbing of the anime, he had 2 different voices, one of whom was Roland Parilament, the other being Benjamin Diskin, since it was dubbed in English by 2 different studios. (Viz, and DiC)

In the Mexican Spanish dubbing however, he was called Kelvin Taylor (sometimes Kevin Taylor). And just like the English dubbing, he had 2 different dubbing voice actors (one being Genaro Vásquez, the other being José Gilberto Vilchis).

He would eventually be adopted as a Barney Bunch member by the Speakonia Community, though it's unclear when exactly he was introduced or who introduced him into the Barney Bunch, although there were claims that a member of The Foot Fetish Community (presumably DJSwell69) introduced him as a Barney Bunch member.

Similar case with both Caillou and Nigel Thornberry, he isn't a forgotten member, but he was still rarely used. However, he was very prominently used in Blood-style videos, and he did occasionally tag along with the Barney Bunch whenever they went somewhere, a couple of instances being when he tagged along with the Barney Bunch to go to a public beach, or even to Ethan Davis' house. He also joined Drew in looking at closing logos in one of Skewt's logo videos.

He is usually voiced by Microsoft Mike, but in other cases, he is voiced by Adult Male #1 or #3.
