Barney Bunch/Speakonia Community Timeline (2000s)

Below is a list of events that happened throughout the history of the Barney Bunch and Speakonia Community. Keep in mind that much of the information on the group, at least in its earlier years, is fairly sparse or lost, so mostly significant information will be listed. This section will cover everything from the 2000s.

Overview

The 2000s would be the decade that the Barney Bunch would form, as well as mark the creation of the Pube Muppet, Sammy t3h Snake, the Drew Pickles Goes To videos, and many more. It would see the dawn of some of the community's most iconic and famed creators, with many classic videos being produced, though sadly, many of them have become lost to time.

2000

• Early or mid 2000s - CFS Technologies ceases all updates to Speakonia. The program could still be downloaded though.
• September 4 - Caillou begins to air in the US on PBS, and Clifford the Big Red Dog premiers its first episode as well.
• November 17 - Rugrats In Paris: The Movie is theatrically released.

2001

• 2001 - The Wiggles premier their television series in the US. This causes them to become a massive hit and their legacy as one of the biggest children's musical groups is solidified. Also, both the Wiggles and Barney would appear together on The Today Show and be interviewed. The website YTMND is launched.
• February 9 - Lyrick Studios, the company that owns Barney and Friends and the distribution rights for The Wiggles, is acquired by and merged with HIT Entertainment, causing all their properties to be under HIT Entertainment's ownership.
• February 16 - The original Teletubbies series airs its final episode.
• March 22 - William Hanna passes away at age 90, and Hanna-Barbera is folded into Warner Bros. Animation.
• July 21 - The Rugrats special "All Growed Up" premiers on Nickelodeon. It also doubled as the pilot for the eventual spinoff series.
• July 15 - Birth of Skewt.
• August - PepsiCo acquires the Quaker Oats Company.
• November 5 - Birth of Michael of Random.

2002

• July 21 - pube mupit gos shoping!11 is submitted to the Newgrounds flash portal by Drinkmagikoopa, marking the first appearance of the Pube Muppet. With its use of a family-friendly character turned homosexual deviant and use of Speakonia for character voices, this Flash sets the template for all future Barney Bunch and Speakonia videos.
• July 22 - Birth of Sonulianic.
• September 9- Birth of Slim Pickles.
• Novemeber 27 - Birth of StraightFusion.
• December 7 - Birth of SavageBoy69.
• December 20 - The Wild Thornberrys Movie is released in theaters.

2003

• 2003 - The Wiggles Movie is released direct-to-video in the US.
• January 15 - The anticipated follow-up to pube muppit gos shoping, pube mupit gets liscence!1, is submitted to Newgrounds by Drunkmagikoopa.
• January 21 - Pube Muppet Buys Dinner is posted to Newgrounds. This is the first Pube Muppet Flash not made by Drunkmagikoopa.
• January 30 - The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald ends after a 4 year run with 6 episodes.
• February 7 - Birth of KAGEVISTA/SexyLuver69.
• April 12 - All Grown Up, a Rugrats spinoff series, premiers on Nickelodeon.
• June 13 - Rugrats Go Wild, the ambitious crossover between Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys, is released in theaters, and is the final Rugrats movie produced.
• September 3 - Code Lyoko premiers on France 3.
• September 11 - John Ritter (the original voice of Clifford) passes away at age 54.

2004

• 2004 - McDonalds Japan releases a series of commercials titled "ドナルドのうわさ" (Donald no Uwasa, or Donald's Rumors), which would mark the debut of the phrase "Ran Ran Ruu". These commercials would regularly air in Japan until 2007. This would become a popular meme in Japan, and Ronald would begin using the phrase in Speakonia content in the 2020s.
• January 15 - The Vocaloid software is released. It would later have Hatsune Miku 3 years later, who would eventually become a Betty Bunch member. The fandom for the software would also become the main rival for those who create Singonia videos.
• February - Disney acquires the rights to the Muppets.
• February 20 - Clifford's Really Big Movie, the first theatrical film starring the Big Red Dog, is released.
• April - The Star Syndicate is founded. The group had ties to the Barney Bunch.
• August 11 - Rugrats officially ends after a 13-year run.
• August 27 - Johnny Bravo airs its final episode.

2005

• 2005 - The Jonas Brothers, who would be a popular target for future Barney Bunch videos, are formed.
• February 14 - YouTube is launched by Jawed Karim, Steve Chen, and Chad Hurley.
• March 15 - Dailymotion is launched.
• March 25 - The Krypto the Superdog animated series premiers on Cartoon Network.
• April 12 - Birth of Gary21115/WaRnEr, the member of Thirteeniverse responsible for handling The Drew Pickles Show.
• April 30 - Birth of RoboticBloxxer.
• August 25 - The Barney Bunch is founded on Newgrounds by BarneyPoop and StrawberryBarney. Also around this time, StrawberryBarney creates the now legendary Drew Pickles is REALLY REALLY Gay!, becoming a hit among the newfound group and making Drew Pickles the face of the Barney Bunch. It is believed that a week after this, the first Secret Missing Episode was made.
• Late 2005 - The Barney Bunch Tripod website is launched.
• December 3 - Macromedia is acquired by Adobe, which included Flash.

2006

• Early 2006 - The Barney Bunch is driven off Newgrounds following their shenanigans, no doubt in partial response to HIT Entertainment threatening legal action against Newgrounds. The word "Barney" is then blacklisted from the Newgrounds search engine. Some members take refuge on YTMND, and began to post there.
• 2006 - Greg Page leaves The Wiggles, and Sam Moran takes his place.
• March 16 - Birth of DuchessTheSponge/DharMannFan69.
• April 20 - StrawberryBarney joins YouTube and uploads Drew Pickles Is REALLY REALLY Gay!, making it the first piece of Barney Bunch media uploaded to the site, kicking off the Bunch's and the Speakonia Community's career on YouTube.
• July 1 - Humongous Entertainment goes defunct.
• August 31 - SovietBarney joins YouTube.
• September - “drewpickles.com” is founded by Star Syndicate member SuperSexyActionFurry. The site served as a file dump for shock content.
• September 5 - The Barney direct-to-video special "Let's Make Music" is released, marking the debut of Riff.
• September 26 - Hip Hop Harry premiers on Discovery Kids.
• December - Sammyt3hSnake uploads his first batch of videos.
• December 18 - Joseph Barbera passes away at age 95.

2007

• 2007 - The Barney Bunch returns to Newgrounds on Clock Day. Blood and Life Or Death join the Barney Bunch. TheSecondL also hosts L Week, in which the classic video Barney Lost His Cock is uploaded. According to Blood, PieMaster64 creates the first Drew Pickles Goes To video, which quickly grows in popularity in the community. Dick the Clown is introduced into the Barney Bunch by GheyCarlWinslow. Sammyt3hSnake joins Dailymotion, becoming one of the earliest members of the community known to join the site.
• 2007 or 2008 - The earliest known Barney Bunch collab on YouTube is hosted by MisterBadBarney. Blood was one of the participants of this collab.
• March 8 - BooNube joins YouTube.
• April 4 - YouTube user and Barney Bunch fan JEMASCOLA uploads Uncut Garfield 1, marking the debut of the Garfield Gang, which is both the first rival for the Barney Bunch and one of the earliest Speakonia groups on YouTube.
• June - Sammyt3hSnake uploads the first part to the ambitious Sammy t3h Snake: The Movie. The remaining parts would be uploaded in July.
• July - HoodboyTails uploads Your Generic GameFaqs User Gets Owned, becoming the first ever Generic Gets Owned video.
• July 17 - SovietBarney uploads Drew Pickles Kart to YouTube.
• July 19 - SovietBarney uploads Drew Pickles Train.
• August 31 - Hatsune Miku’s voice bank is released for the Vocaloid software.
• November 7 - TheSecondL creates the Grover's Gay Gang YouTube channel, acting as another early rival group to the Barney Bunch.

2008

• 2008 - The Singing Barack Obama Doll is created (supposedly).
• January 1 - A remix of the Donald's Rumors commercials with the song UN Owen Was Her from the popular Japanese video game series Touhou Project is uploaded to both Nico Nico Douga and YouTube (the latter under the title Ronald McDonald Insanity and McRolld), skyrocketing the Ran Ran Ruu meme into popularity. Various other remixes featuring Ronald would be made over the years.
• February 24 - HappyTheHomo45 joins YouTube.
• March - The Garfield Gang disbands.
• May 24 - StrawberryBarney uploads Peter Griffin Gets Naked, one of the very few surviving Speakonia videos to surpass a million views.
• June 13 - SovietBarney uploads Drew Pickles Jet Plane.
• July 19 - NintendoMaster2010 joins YouTube.
• August 20 - IronYoshi joins YouTube under his original account name ironyoshi1212. He wouldn't upload any videos until 2010.
• August 27 - Castle Crashers is released on Xbox 360., marking the debut of The Painter, who would later appear in Speakonia videos during the early to mid 2010s.
• September 26 - BarneyBunchCompany joins YouTube under the SSRSIsGay username.
• October - Blood and Life or Death become the new rulers of Sammy t3h Snake Land after rigging the elections so that their Patriot Party would win.
• October 10 - TheSecondL gets hit with its second strike, so he creates LtheOriginal as a backup channel. When TheSecondL was terminated, LtheOriginal became one of the very few places where L's videos were archived.
• October 19 - Chris Crocker Speaks is uploaded by SSRSIsGay.
• November 4 - Barack Obama wins the 2008 elections, becoming the United States' 44th president.
• November 21 - ToiletPranker joins YouTube.
• December 10 - Pube Muppet Goes To an Indian Dance is uploaded by NintendoMaster2010, making it his first Pube Muppet video.

2009

• Late 2008-early 2009 - The Third Generation of the Barney Bunch begins.
• Late 2000s - The Barney Bunch Shoutwiki is formed (supposedly). Sherry Page, the artist who painted the original image of Dick the Clown, removes her entire online presence, believed to be in response to Dick's usage in Barney Bunch videos.
• 2009 - Brothers Zak Wolf (wileyvision13) and Billdeco08 create the bigboyrats channel, which provided Speakonia gag dubs of Rugrats episodes. Life Or Death creates the Bacon666 Photobucket page, as well as starting the Death Destroyer music project. bigboyrats also released the Drew Pickles's Turkey of Horror video, which marks the first ever reference to the Betty Bunch. The Monsters Cereal goes from being produced year-round to being exclusively released around the Halloween season.
• January 3 - ToiletPranker uploads Crazy Frog The Never Before Seen Original, becoming the second BB video to surpass a million views.
• January 20 - Barack Obama begins his term as US President.
• February 4 - ToiletPranker uploads Super Special Teletubbies.
• February 10 - BakaSurvivor2102 uploads Drew Pickles Goes To Hell, which would become one of the most viewed Drew Pickles Goes To videos on YouTube.
• February 14 - SovietBarney uploads Drew Pickles ROCK BC.
• February 28 - SSRSIsGay uploads The UNCENSORED Secret Missing Episode of the Teletubbies.
• April 6 - PoopyBarney joins YouTube.
• May 27 - ChoroQQQQQ uploads Screw Pickles, marking the debut of the aforementioned Screw Pickles as the first original antagonistic character for the Barney Bunch.
• June - Sammyt3hSnake is suspended from YouTube.
• June 6 - Sammyt3hSnake creates the SammyisMadeofCh33se account in response to his suspension, uploading most of his original videos to said channel before becoming completely inactive.
• June 15 - The first entry in the Cookie Run series, OvenBreak, is released on the iOS App Store. Some of its characters would appear in Barney Bunch videos during the early-mid 2010s.
• July 1 - Newgrounds vet RetardedBarney, under the alias dr00pickles, creates The Drew Pickles Workout Tape.
• August 11 - swellronald joins YouTube.
• August 28 - swellronald uploads The Quaker Queer introduces himself, marking the first time the Quaker Queer appears in a Barney Bunch video.
• September 18 - Barney and Friends airs its final episode "Home Sweet Earth: The Rainforest". No new Barney content is produced outside a few live shows at Universal Studios.
• September 26 - SovietBarney uploads Drew Pickles Elevator Action. This would be his last upload before disappearing until 2011
• November 15 - SSRSIsGay reuploads The Wiggles Play With Their Poopy.
• December - A Brief History of the Drew Pickles Existence is uploaded to YouTube.
• December 26 - SSRSIsGay uploads The Wiggles Fuckfest Orgy.
