Beginning in late 2016, Wildbrain released a revival series onto YouTube, and the episodes would be released on the official Caillou channel, and they would later be released on Amazon Prime, these episodes weren't availible for people in the US until 2021. In August 2021, Cartoon Network acquired the rights for Caillou to air on Cartoonito, and it would air both the original series and the rebooted series on the programming block. Later in September of 2021, Wildbrain announced five original 45-minute CGI specials that are set to be released in the summer of 2022.


Caillou was used since the early YouTube era and it’s unknown when he was added to the Bunch, but it was estimated to be around 2007-2009 when he was introduced into the Barney Bunch.
