The '''Teletubbies''' are a group of 4 creatures, '''Tinky Winky''' (Purple), '''Dipsy''' (Green), '''Laa-Laa''' (Yellow), and '''Po''' (Red), who originate from their own show they have been utilized in the [[The Barney Bunch|Barney Bunch]] and [[The Speakonia Community|Speakonia Community]] since the [[Newgrounds]] era. Despite not being considered forgotten, their roles have decreased over the years and are nowadays rarely used.

== Description ==
The Teletubbies made their premier in 1997 when their show first aired in the UK, later broadcasting in the US on the PBS network in 1998. Their show would last from 1997 to 2001, with reruns airing up until 2008 on the PBS network. In 2015, a revival series premiered on the both BBC and Nick Jr that ran until it was silently cancelled in 2018. Around that same year, there was an animated spinoff called the ''Tiddlytubbies'', which stars the title characters as babies. As of 2022, they have a CGI-animated reboot called ''Teletubbies Let's Go!''.

During the early days of the Barney Bunch, the group would adopt them as one of their staple characters, and become members of the [[The Barney Bunch (fictional)|fictional Barney Bunch]], being famously mentioned in [[Drew Pickles is REALLY REALLY Gay!]]. After the move to [[YouTube]], their roles began to slowly decline and they eventually found themselves in obscurity, but despite this, they still get used today in [[Blood-style videos]], as well as [[Drew Pickles Goes To|Goes To]] Videos.

Since Laa-Laa and Po are females in the original show, some users turn them into males (or trans-males) just so they can fit right in with the rest of the Barney Bunch, though some users decided to make them part of the [[The Betty Bunch|Betty Bunch]] while Tinky Winky and Dipsy stay Barney Bunch members, which resulted in their lore/roles to be infamously inconsistent and messy.

In their show, the Teletubbies gibber and cannot speak proper English, though in Speakonia videos, they are capable of speech. Speakong of, they're voiced by so many [[Speakonia]] voices, ranging from Sam, Mike, Mary, The Adult Male and Female voices, possibly tied for holding the record for having the most voices used for a character in Speakonia videos, second only to the [[The Wiggles|Wiggles]]. The Microsoft Sam voice is primarily used for Tinky Winky, using different pitches, while Dipsy uses the Adult Male #2 voice.

* Community member [[RoboticBloxxer]] has stated that the Teletubbies are some of his favorite characters to use in videos.
*One of the Teletubbies (Dipsy) has made appearances in [[IronYoshi1212 Productions|IronYoshi1212]]'s Super Mario Toy Show videos, years before he would join the Speakonia Community.
*Ironically enough, Tinky Winky has gotten into controversy when anti-LGBT groups accused him of inserting a "gay agenda" with Jerry Falwell accusing him of being a "gay pride symbol". The BBC channel had to deny him being gay as they stated "Tinky Winky is simply a sweet, technological baby with a magic bag." Kenn Viselman of Itsy-Bitsy Entertainment said, "He's not gay. He's not straight. He's just a character in a children's series.".
