'''Secret Missing Episodes''' are a series of videos that are one of the most common type of video made by the [[The Speakonia Community|Speakonia Community]], second only to the [[Drew Pickles Goes To]] videos. The videos try to pose as a lost or unaired episode of a television show (though sometimes scenes from movies and levels from videos games were eventually added in), but would eventually delve into the typical [[The Barney Bunch|Barney Bunch]] style of having all the characters be homosexual deviants. They are still being made today, though they are not as common as they were back then.

== Format ==
As is tradition with many [[Speakonia]] videos, Secret Missing Episodes follow a clear and cut format that rarely changes.

*Each video would open up with either Mike on Phone or Robosoft Three proclaiming "This is the Secret Missing Episode of (insert show here)". It then explains why the episode never aired, which is usually a comical or ridiculous reason. It then says that you must be a seemingly impossible age or must perform an impossible task in order to properly view.
*One of the characters from the show, usually the main character, announces their homosexuality or some other kind of sexuality here depending the character, and that they love to engage in a wide variety of sexual acts and shenanigans. Other characters usually join in too.
*Many of the earlier videos on [[Newgrounds]] would use screencaps from the shows that are out of context and add their own commentary to it for hilarity's sake.
*Later videos (usually from the [[The Foot Fetish Community|Foot Fetish Community]]) would have a ridiculous moral at the end, and that "if you took this video seriously, then you are a sick fuck".

== History ==
While it is unclear as to what or when the first Secret Missing Episode was made, some claims have started that the first one was created on Newgrounds roughly a week after the original Barney Bunch was formed in 2005. [[StrawberryBarney]] in particular was a major contributor to the Secret Missing Episode style, having produced a number of them on Newgrounds. A few of them are still up on Newgrounds, though they are mainly restricted to being entries in the various collab flashes the Barney Bunch hosted.

After the Barney Bunch was exiled from Newgrounds, they would eventually settle onto [[YouTube]], where the Secret Missing Episodes really began to kick off. StrawberryBarney made a handful of newer ones, and many other members of the community began to emulate the style. One such channel, SecretEpisodes101, basically specialized entirely in Secret Missing Episodes. Other users like MisterBoners and [[ToiletPranker]] would also create some iconic videos in that style.

By the early 2010s, the Foot Fetish Community would take Secret Missing Episodes to their next logical evolution. Many of the videos made by them were much longer, being roughly 15 to almost a half hour in length, and were even divided up into separate parts and acts. They also served as some points of continuity for their own videos. The videos also had more effort put into them, as some, like [[DJSwell69]]'s Secret Missing Episode of Scooby's All Star Laff-a-lympics, had some animated sections in them too, rather than using still images. By the late 2010s, Secret Missing Episodes were not as common as they once were, with the Goes To videos still marching on, as well as the emergence of the [[Blood-style videos]] during the [[Barney Bunch Renaissance|Renaissance]] eras, Despite this, they are still being made to some capacity, and continue to be a crucial part of Speakonia Community history.
