Editing Wiki Saga

The '''Wiki Saga''' was a period in [[The Barney Bunch|Barney Bunch]] and [[The Speakonia Community|Speakonia Community]] history that centered around the creation and maintenance of a new Barney Bunch wiki that would replace the old [[List of Barney Bunch Wikis|Barney Bunch Shoutwiki]]. This took place during the summer of 2017, during a productive but increasingly stagnant period following the [[Barney Bunch Renaissance]] the previous year.

[[Skewt]] and another user, MCB1209, created the wiki "Drew Pickles And The BB Wiki" on 23 June 2017 to replace the BB Shoutwiki, which was originally created by community veterans, but was long since abandoned and bloated with unrelated content. The saga eventually culminated in an all out siege upon the BB Shoutwiki when MCB1209 fooled the remaining members, then culled into the group known as [[NewSchoolSwellness]], to begin raiding the wiki which he claimed was being run by user M-San, who he apparently had an unexplained feud with. It ended with both wikis being shut down and the community began to decline even further.

== History ==
In June 2017, the Barney Bunch was going through tough times, [[Blood]] and Life or Death had long since retired and most other players from the BB Renaissance of 2016 were on hiatus. Skewt was feeling the fallout from this lack of activity and found that making [[The Wiggles|Wiggles]] videos was no longer as rewarding as it had been the previous year, and his video output slowed down during this time. Eventually Skewt was approached by user MCB1209 with the idea of starting up a new wiki dedicated to the Barney Bunch to replace the original one hosted on Shoutwiki.

Initially, this wiki was hosted on Shoutwiki as well, but Skewt was a scrub with no talent who couldn't figure out how to add infoboxes and post pictures with Shoutwiki's interface, so he suggested the wiki be hosted on Wikia (now known as Fandom), to which MCB obliged. On June 23, 2017, Drew Pickles And The BB Wiki was officially created. Skewt posted a video advertising the newly created wiki.

[[SavageBoy69|SavageBoy]] joined and began helping to edit the wiki almost immediately, and this was the point where Skewt and SavageBoy began to build their alliance by utilizing the wiki's messaging feature. Eventually more users such as Prime8NStuff joined and began editing, and eventually the wiki grew into a sizeable hub of info for all things BB and Speakonia Community related.

By August 2017, NewSchoolSwellness was formed, it's name taken from the group [[OldSchoolSwellness]], which participated in the [[The Unestablished War|Unestablished War of 2011]]. This group was hosted on [[Google+]] and consisted of the main BB players who were still active at that time which included Skewt, Prime8NStuff, SavageBoy, and others such as MCB1209 and OttomagicCritic, a commentary channel who also did BB stuff on the side.

Eventually, Drew Pickles and the BB Wiki was found by outside users who had no idea about proper Barney Bunch etiquette and began posting articles about so called "unestablished" things, such as characters which were never used in a single Speakonia video that mattered which was the very thing that bogged down the BB Shoutwiki.

MCB1209 then pulled what was later considered to be the ultimate sham of the century when he declared user M-San to be Public Enemy Number 1 of the Barney Bunch and ordered the BB Shoutwiki to be raided and have it's articles vandalized. The Wiki was eventually closed on August 26, 2017, followed closely by Drew Pickles and the BB Wiki in December for reasons such as, among other things, use of the "f" slur. SavageBoy later saved an .xml dump of the wiki, which became the basis for every future Barney Bunch wiki going forward, starting with the Speakonia Community Wiki on Miraheze.

NewSchoolSwellness would spin off into a Discord server later that year, where despite managing to pull in veteran BB members such as Madassgamer, those users had long since been pulled into the new age of E-Humor and had lost touch with their BB pasts, and thus brought the group far away from Barney Bunch related matters.
